Following certification with the Carbon Trust your management system is reviewed with annual audits leading to a re-certification.
This audit ensures that conformity to ISO 14001 and/or ISO 50001 is maintained and that the system is still on track regarding continual improvement. This visit samples key elements from the management system and checks progress of any corrective action plan in place.
The first surveillance audit will need to take place within twelve months of the initial certification, and thereafter will take place every calendar year except where a recertification audit is required.
The purpose of the recertification audit is to confirm the continued conformity and effectiveness of the management system as a whole, and its continued relevance and applicability for the scope of certification. It includes a review of the performance of the system over the past three-years.
The recertification audit takes place in the final year of every three-year certification cycle, and following a successful audit the Certificate of Conformity can be reissued for a further three years.
Surveillance and Recertification audits form an integral part of the Audit Processes and help to ensure your management system is as effective as it can be and helps you to deliver continual improvement. To find out more about how this could work in your organisation visit our Contact Us page
